Jungkare, August 1, 2024 – SDN 01 Jungkare witnessed an inspiring activity aimed at fostering leadership skills among fifth-grade students. The event, titled “Young Leaders Driving Village Change,” was part of the monodisciplinary work program of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) Community Service Program (KKN) Team II for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Anisa Anggraeni, a student from the Government Studies Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNDIP, spearheaded this training with enthusiasm. She guided the students to understand basic leadership concepts, the importance of leadership roles in society, and how they can act as agents of change in their own village. The training was designed to cultivate leadership skills in children from an early age, with the hope that they would become positive change-makers within their communities.

Held in the fifth-grade classroom, the training was attended by all fifth-grade students. The event was inaugurated by the Principal of SDN 01 Jungkare, Mr. Agus Wiranta, who emphasized the importance of leadership training in shaping children’s character. “We aim to prepare a young generation that is ready to lead, take initiative, and contribute to society, particularly in their own villages,” he stated during his opening remarks.

The training was not only theory-based but also incorporated various interactive learning methods. One of the most engaging sessions was the educational game “A Word,” designed to hone students’ leadership skills. In this game, participants were encouraged to work collaboratively in teams, make decisions, and tackle challenges together. This activity highlighted leadership traits that students might need in the future as leaders in their village or beyond.

Additionally, the training included a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) session where students were divided into small groups to discuss topics related to leadership and village development. In this forum, students were encouraged to share ideas and perspectives on becoming good leaders and contributing to their village’s progress. The KKN UNDIP Team II students facilitated the discussions, helping the participants sharpen their critical thinking skills and effectively express their opinions.

According to one of the participants, Selfi, the activity was both enjoyable and educational. “I learned how to collaborate with my friends and how to be a good leader. I want to use this knowledge to help my village,” she said enthusiastically.

This training is expected to be the starting point for developing leadership character among the students of SDN 01 Jungkare, enabling them to take an active role in village development. With programs like this, it is hoped that the young generation of Jungkare Village will grow into resilient leaders ready to face future challenges.
