Italy, June 2025 – Three lecturers from the Public Administration Program at FISIP Universitas Diponegoro — M. Adnan, Wahid A., and Aniello — are currently undertaking a significant academic and diplomatic mission in Italy. This journey highlights the strategic role of academics in advancing Indonesia’s educational diplomacy on the international stage.
While in Italy, the trio has been engaged in a series of prestigious activities. One of the main highlights was their participation as speakers at an international conference hosted by the University of Turin. At this scholarly forum, they presented academic insights and contributed to global discussions on governance.
In addition to the conference, they also explored academic collaboration opportunities with the University of Pisa, as part of Undip’s commitment to internationalization and academic networking. During the same visit, they met with the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia for Italy, Malta, Cyprus, San Marino, and FAO, to further strengthen academic diplomacy and cross-border cooperation.
A particularly proud moment was when M. Adnan was entrusted to deliver the Eid al-Adha sermon at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Rome. This role not only showcased his scholarly excellence but also highlighted his commitment to faith and national identity.
One journey, three roles: academic, diplomat, and khatib — a powerful testament to how lecturers from FISIP Undip’s Public Administration Program are not only excelling nationally but are also making meaningful contributions on the global intellectual stage.
