Semarang, February 13, 2026 \u2014 The Department of Politics and Governmental Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University (UNDIP) held a Book Review event titled \u201cTechnocratic Politics: Victory Beyond Intersectionality in Elections\u201d at the FIMENA Auditorium, Building A, 3rd Floor, FISIP UNDIP. This event is part of FISIP UNDIP\u2019s commitment to promote an academically productive tradition relevant to contemporary political dynamics. The book, written by Muhammad Fikar, was developed from his undergraduate thesis and supervised by Dr. Phil. Wahid Abdulrahman, Dr. Kushandajani, and Jihan Marsya.<\/p>\n

The series of events began with a welcoming session for invited guests at the FISIP UNDIP Lobby, featuring \u201cUNDIP Technological Innovation Products\u201d by Diponegoro University Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., Director of Innovation and Cooperation Drh. Dian Wahyu Harjanti, Ph.D., accompanied by the Dean of FISIP Undip, the Head of the Department of Politics and Governmental Sciences FISIP Undip, and the entire leadership team. Also present were the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Yan Wisnu Prajoko, M.Kes., Sp.B., Subsp.Onk(K), and Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Alamsyah, S.S., M.Hum.<\/p>\n

The event was officially opened by the Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, who in his remarks emphasized the importance of student scholarly works in enriching national political discourse. He stated that FISIP UNDIP continues to encourage students to produce works that not only meet academic standards but also have social and political relevance. \u201cThis book demonstrates that academic studies by students can be transformed into intellectual works that make real contributions to the understanding of political practices in Indonesia,\u201d said Dr. Teguh Yuwono.<\/p>\n

The main Book Review session featured several national figures and academics as speakers, including:
\n\u00b7Amelia Anggraini, Member of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR\/MPR RI), as the main presenter who examined the ideas in the book, especially regarding technocratic politics phenomena within electoraldynamics.
\n\u00b7 Dr. Lestari Moerdijat, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian People\u2019s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), who provided reflections and projections on political practices and representation in the nationalcontext.
\n\u00b7 Sugeng Suparwoto, M.T., Deputy Chairman of Commission XII Indonesian Parliament, who presented views on the relationship between technocracy, public policy, and political contestation.
\n\u00b7 Dr. Nur Hidayat Sardini, Head of the Department of Politics and Governmental Sciences FISIP UNDIP, who provided an academic-political analysis of the book\u2019s conceptual framework.<\/p>\n

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Phil. Wahid Abdulrahman. In this forum, the speakers highlighted how victory in elections is determined not only by factors of identity or intersectionality, but also by technocratic capacity, competence, and adaptive political strategies in response to social change.<\/p>\n

This event also served as a space for dialogue between academics, political practitioners, and students to deepen understanding of electoral political transformation in Indonesia. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from the interactive response and analysis sessions among invited guests.
