2022 Scientific Oration of FISIP Undip, Challenges and Opportunities for Social and Political Sciences in the Era of Digital Transformation

The Scientific Oration held on Thursday, 22 December 2022 in the Theatre Room Building C 1st Floor, FISIP Undip Tembalang Campus was one of the events in a series of celebrations of the 54th Anniversary of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro. The event with the theme “Challenges and Opportunities for Social and Political Sciences in the Era of Digital Transformation” was attended by Drs Sapto Adi Sugihartono, MM, (Head of the National Unity and Political Agency of Semarang City), Lita Febrian, S.T., M.T., and Okki Chandsra Ambarwati, S.Sos., M.A.P., (Bappeda of Central Java Province), RR Indrayani Cahyasari, SE (Sub Coordinator of Macroeconomic Planning of Semarang City Bappeda), Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr Drs Hardi Warsono, M.T., Vice Dean I FISIP Undip, Dr Drs Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol., Admin. and Vice Dean II FISIP Undip, Ika Riswanti Putranti, S.H. M.H. Ph.D.

This Scientific Oration activity is one of the forums for FISIP Undip lecturers who have just completed their doctoral degrees and lecturers with doctoral degrees who have just joined the Orange Campus community to socialise the results of their research work and thoughts. In addition, this activity is a forum for Doctors to contextualise their thoughts with the actual problems faced by society in the current era of digital transformation.

In his speech, the Acting Mayor of Semarang, Ir Hj Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, M.Sos, represented by Drs Sapto Adi Sugihartono, MM, said that graduates of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences played an important role in studying social phenomena. They were also prepared with the ability to analyse society including critically analysing social, cultural, and political phenomena, as well as being able to provide alternative problem-solvers in Indonesian society. In relation to the Transformation of a culture, he emphasised that the practitioners of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences must be able to take the role of a bridge between social life and new technology along with the emergence of new social problems.

Furthermore, the Dean of FISIP Undip also said that the study programmes in FISIP Undip were very popular. Even some study programmes such as International Relations and Communication Science were among the two most in demand by the community. He also hoped that the capacity of the abilities and competencies possessed by FISIP Undip alumni would match the expectations of the community. In addition, this Scientific Oration activity was expected to revive the scientific tradition that had existed for a long time. In line with the theme of the 54th FISIP Undip Anniversary, namely “Building the Nation with Creation, Building the Country with Achievement,” the Dean of FISIP Undip also encouraged lecturers and students to participate in competitions to achieve national and international achievements.

Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, Bogasari Flour Mills Division)), Teuku Afrizal, S.E., M.ENV.MGT., Ph.D., from the Department of Public Administration (Beyond Community-Based Solid Waste Management: A Development Studies Perspective), Dr Nunik Retno Herawati, S.Sos., M.Si., from the Department of Politics and Government Studies (Leadership and Management of Legal Entity State Universities), Wijayanto, Ph.D from the Department of Politics and Government Studies (Oligarchy, Economic Inequality and Our Political Imagination), Bangkit Aditya Wiryawan, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D. from the Department of Politics and Government Studies (Dynamics of decentralisation policy and its impact on industrial sector productivity), Dr Andi Wijayanto, S.Sos., M.Si. from the Department of Business Administration (Competitive Advantage and Dynamic Capabilities of Manufacturing Industry in Indonesia), Dr Priyotomo, S.Sos., M.M. from the Department of Business Administration (Digital Transformation in Family Support Career Achievement in VUCA Situation), Dr Sari Listyorini, S.Sos., M.AB. from the Department of Business Administration (The Influence of Religiosity on Fashion Involvement, Fashion Knowledge, Customer Perceived Value, Consumer Satisfaction, and Patronage Intention) and Dr Triyono Lukmantoro, S.Sos., M.Si from the Department of Communication Science (Propaganda Narratives in Social Media: A Small Stories Study of Facebook Groups Supporting Jokowi (Pakde Jokowi) and Facebook Groups Supporting Prabowo (Prabowo for NKRI) in the 2019 Presidential Election Campaign).
