Signing of MoU between KPU RI and Diponegoro University and Guest Lecture with KPU RI Chairman

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Diponegoro University, one of the activities of FISIP UNDIP was held, namely the Guest Lecture as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UNDIP and KPU RI. This guest lecture brought Hasyim Asy’ari, S.H., MSi., Ph.D., the Chairman of KPU RI as the main speaker and Dr. Sos. Dra. Fitriyah, M.S., a lecture from the Department of Politics and Government Science FISIP UNDIP as moderator, and also attended the ranks of stakeholders, including the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo S.E., M.Si., Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M. Pol.Admin, Dean of FISIP UNDIP, and Dr. Nur Hidayat Sardini S.Sos., S.H., M.Si, Chairman of the Department of Politics & Government Science FISIP UNDIP.

After the event was opened by the MC at 10.00 AM, the event immediately continued with the reading of the memorandum of understanding between UNDIP and KPU RI by Dr. Nur Hidayat Sardini S.Sos., S.H., M.Si. and signing by the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo S.E., M.Si., and Chairman of KPU RI, Hasyim Asy’ari, S.H., MSi., Ph.D. The signing of this memorandum of understanding is a proof of the collaboration between Diponegoro University and KPU RI. After the ratification of the memorandum of understanding, it was continued with the “Guest Lecture: Evaluation of the General Election in 2024 and Student Participation in the Implementation of Pilkada in 2024”

The guest lecture’s main speaker was the Chairperson of KPU RI, Hasyim Asy’ari, S.H., MSi., Ph.D. The material given was themed general elections and student unrest about the implementation of the 2024 elections. Through a question and answer session, students revealed that they wanted the election to be more transparent and fair (Luber Jurdil) in the future. In his presentation, Hasyim Asy’ari as the speaker argued that all election procedures had been carried out in accordance with applicable laws and policies.

In this guest lecture, the evaluation of the 2024 elections was discussed in detail. The guest lecture activities ran smoothly from start to finish and the enthusiasm of the participants was extraordinary for the presentation of the material presented. Guest lecture participants were active in asking questions to the speakers, making the session a very engaging discussion. Based on the results of this activity, it is hoped that students will actively participate in the implementation of the 2024 elections, especially Diponegoro University students and the implementation of the elections in 2024 by the government will be more transparent in accordance with legal rules.
