This course provides insight of various perspectives and activities established by civil society in Indonesia in order to resists towards democratic drawbacks within digital revolution era.
About Politics and Government Studies
The Department of Politics and Government Studies at Universitas Diponegoro is one of the departments that focuses on studies of government, citizens, and the interactions that occur. The realm of politics and governance studies is very challenging and full of dynamics that are relevant to daily social activities.

Practical benefit
- Examine the dynamics of civil society movements on social media in the era of the digital revolution in order to strengthen civil society’s resistance to digital activism in the midst of the downward trend of democracy.
- Identify the problems of social media activism in the era of the digital revolution, as well as providing awareness to elements of civil society, journalists and political parties at the regional level about the ongoing democratic decline in cyberspace and to play an active role in carrying out the mission of saving democracy in order to realize a consolidated democracy.
- Identify steps to strengthen civil society’s digital resilience in resistance movements on social media by strengthening civil society movement networks as a form of resistance to digital repression.
- Understand theoretical and methodological knowledge to research the dynamics of digital democracy, which will also be useful for conducting social media activism.
