Semarang (14/11) – The Bachelor of Government Studies Programme, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro recently held a Guest Lecturer with the theme ” Urban Problem Analysis, Transport Management”. The activity which took place on Monday, 7 November 2022 also invited Maria Renny Herdanti from the British Embassy Jakarta. In addition, that activity was attended by students of the Urban Politics class. In this lecture, they are expected to be able to take an overview of the role of government in the field of urban transport.

Furthermore, Maria in her material presented an explanation related to Future Cities: Urban Transport Planning. She mentioned several elements of urban planning that needed to be considered such as Vision, Problems and Contextualisation, Verification and Validation of Baseline Date, Mapping of Actors, Implementation Strategy, Implementation Plan, Public Consultation, Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, and Funding. In addition, Maria also emphasised that the purpose of transport was to support the movement of the urban economy, not the other way around.
